Title: SNEStale (Preschtale, Parts 2-4-5)
Track: 05
Composer: Dmitry Zhemkov (C-Jeff)
Arranger: Shannon Mason (Pongball)

The album from which this track comes from is “Preschtale Variations”, which is an arranged album of the music of C-jeff’s “Preschtale,” a catchy album that was released last year. “Preschtale Variations” is real treat for those who enjoyed the original, and deserves attention for it’s unique and amazing arrangements…

Today, I present you with Pongball’s contribution to the album; an astonishing track that pours an emotional feast as to tug at the heart strings of listeners. Myself? I get a sense of mystery and lonely melancholy—especially during introduction of the accordion(?)/harmonica(?). Wonderful, wonderful track. Bravo Shannon.

I wonder, what emotional response do you have from listening to this track?

And here is some music! I wrote this a couple of years ago using instrument samples from various SNES games. It’s inspired by Starfox, Chrono Cross, Super Mario Galaxy, and all sorts of other things that are great. :D

Here’s a description of this album’s creation as well a link to pick it up if you enjoyed it.***

Note: This music is all available for free elsewhere on the web, but if you really want to buy it, I certainly won’t stop you. ;)

I wrote these songs in the style of my favorite RPG soundtracks of the SNES era (with many other video game influences). The original plan was to create a full length album of songs in this style—sort of a mini-RPG soundtrack—which I may still do eventually, but it’s taken a lot longer than expected (mostly due to lack of inspiration; it’s hard to write music for a non-existent game with no art and no story :P).

I’m very proud of all these tracks, and sooooo happy that so many others have enjoyed them so far. I hope they bring you lots of warm and fuzzy nostalgia (but not TOO fuzzy, or you might get dizzy).

PS: I’ve been told that if you listen to these while out and about, your life turns into an epic Super Nintendo RPG adventure. ;)

***: I’ve always enjoyed the works of Pongball and thought you might enjoy them as well. Spread the wealth of music, no? :3
