Zelda: Ocarina of TIme - “Zora’s Domain” (KiLa-V Remix)

Hello everyone! I’m Scrub Club Records artist 2 Mello and I just wanted to tease my newest project, a full album combining Jay-Z lyrics with Chrono Trigger-sampling hip-hop beats. Here is the first single, a mix of Jay-Z’s “Ignorant Shit” with Chrono Trigger’s “Wind Scene”, on Soundcloud. Thanks for the listen!

The British electronic producer and sound artist Matthew Herbert has created an experimental interactive soundtrack for the iPhone game PENTAPUZZLE, which is now globally available from the App Store for use on iPhone and iPod touch.
The game features a unique integration of music and gameplay. Placing and removing puzzle pieces adds and takes away various layers in the music making PENTAPUZZLE, a musical puzzle as well as an actual puzzle. Additional sounds have been hidden in the game and once found will allow the player to perform a jam session in addition to the main score.
PENTAPUZZLE is available for free from the App Store and users are encouraged to play the game using a stereo headset to enjoy the full audio experience.
About Matthew Herbert
Matthew Herbert has released several albums under different aliases, including the highly acclaimed Bodily Functions in 2001, which was recently reissued. He produced Roisin Murphy’s debut album, Ruby Blue, and has remixed R.E.M. and Moloko, to name but a few. Matthew Herbert also has a programming credit on Björk’s album Vespertine and he created several tracks on her Biophilia remixes, released in 2012. Together with Harry Gregson-Williams, he created the soundtrack for the Ridley Scott/You Tube movie, “Life in a Day”.

Track: 14
Composer: Takeharu Ishimoto
This album is too darn catchy not to post tracks from. Happy Listenings!
Howdy everyone,
I wrote up a quick, general survey asking some questions about Video Game Music, and I would love to have you beautiful people take part in the survey. Pretty much what I’m asking is:
What makes Video Game Music Unique?
and
Can you spot it out from a group of music?
I gave one or two examples in the question help section underneath the main questions as to show possible ways to go about answering it, but please don’t let it limit your responses to follow that frame of thought…let it it be a starting point. So in other words…even if both questions are general, you don’t have to let your answers be! :)
Thank you for your time for reading, especially if you do take part in the survey. I’m not collecting personal information either, so it’s a straight forward form submit without the strings. Also, depending on the success of this survey, there may be additional surveys in the future that link together. Thanks again…
Note: It would be a great help if you could spread this survey around via reblog for those on Tumblr. You’re kindness and help is always appreciated…thank you.

My first video game OST, which I’ve been working on for the past few months. It’s a full-length mix of house, ambient, orchestral, and avant-garde music that draws heavily from works such as Chrono Trigger, Nier, and EarthBound.
Give it a listen if it sounds like your kind of thing!

Title: A Cheerful Bandit
Disc: 01
Track: 05
Game: Tales of Legendia
Composer: Go Shiina
Again. Tales of Legendia or Tales of Jazz? I’m completely blown away on the quality of the compositions and orchestrations. It’s one thing to have a diverse soundtrack—as most game do—but it’s another to dish out work like this, and keeping it up…
I’m under the impression that the last two I mentioned arranged only a couple of pieces and Go Shiina did the rest himself. If I’m getting that mixed up, correct me on it so I can give credit where it’s do.
Title: Sunlight Filtering Through the Trees
Disc: 01
Track: 05
Game: Tales of Legendia
Composer: Go Shiina
Tales of Legendia? More like Tales of Chopin…maybe even Tales of Romantic music. The piano playing and other soothing playing makes me wish that other games had a piano concerto as background music for RPGs. (This track isn’t a piano concerto, but has many pleasant piano inserts.)
Namco, should’ve kept this guy on staff for more than two other “Tales of” games. Of course, the same goes for the arrangers Natsumi Kameoka and Hironori Osone.
Title: Short Circuit
Track: 05
Game: Tales of Legendia
Composer: Go Shiina
The music of this game sounds like it belongs in an anime. Kudos to Go Shiina for doing a spectacular job.
This reblog comes from my main blog, so if you’d like to follow that one as well: rhythmroo.tumblr.com.
My main will cover topics related to video game music, but other things that might come across my mind that might be of interest to read(?).
… Main? What is wrong with me…this is what happens when you’ve been raised on MMORPGs.

Title: Who Am I?
Track: 8
Album: Music from Alone in the Dark
Game: Alone in the Dark (2008)
Composer: Olivier Deriviere
Hey everyone! Sorry for the moment of silence on my part…had a bit of classwork and music to catch up on. Now that it’s October, I think we’ll shift our focus of music to something that’s more indicative of creepy pasta and Halloween. Today we’ll start off with something tame, pleasing—hardly creepy if that was its aim—and impressive.
Olivier Deriviere’s “Who Am I” is the choice for today. The soundtrack in its entirety is a very pleasant listen, as I found Deriviere’s choice of Choir to sing the vocal parts to be appropriate. The Mystery of Bulgarian Voices—to my ears at least—present a beautiful ambient-melancholy that colors the tones of this piece with dark shades, giving it that dark mood. Hopefully that was Deriviere’s aim to deliver a—and excuse the pun—mysterious atmosphere to the game, because that is what I was feeling when washing in its tone during gameplay videos and such.
I wonder…what feelings do you get when you listen to this track?
Who Am I Lyrics by Irina Zhekova
Kato v san neprobuden
Sas tchii otchi sanuvam
Tchii e tozi lik obretchen
Smaten glas me se pritchuva
I otekva s vik dalechen
Kak da zarna, da progledna
Tchujdi obraz da pregarna
Na litesto mi smuteno
Griah v nadejda da prevarna
Sas sartseto mi shte diria
Pat v sadbata nepoznata
Niamam maitchina zakrila
Niamam nishto na zemiata
Dokato namerja uteha vyv

Biagam ot sebe si
Potavat mi sledite
Kato v san neprobuden
English
As if from a deep slumber…
From whose eyes do I see?
Who does this cursed face belong to?
I can hardly hear the vague voice calling
Like a scream echoing from afar
Will I ever understand?
How to embrace
This unknown face
And turn sin into hope?
With my heart, I’m seeking
A path through my uncharted fate
I have no mother land
I have nothing on this earth
Until I have found Redemption
In the heart of the night
I run from myself
My feet sinking.
As if from a deep slumber…
